Katie Mendez, long-time collector of female portraits, rediscovered her paint brush after an extended hiatus spent doing other important work - particularly mothering two young children and fundraising for non-profit organizations.

While Katie did graduate with an art degree, it is the decades of crafting, quilting, and creating that most influences her work.
